the AI whisperers.
A race for attention rewards speed over depth, and speed over depth makes noise. The AI Whisperers are only its most visible symptom.
Today my AI assistant Ella showed me another AI Whisperer post on LinkedIn. A triumphant story about agentic AI, written in the old formula that always sells: royalty, sex, religion and mystery.
We used to call them evangelists. Today they are AI Whisperers. They learn a tool in an afternoon and present it that evening as proven software, the unboxing influencer, now for systems. It is a race for attention and the fastest energy wins it.
You know the posts. The prompt that changed a life, the demo that never fails, the meeting that impressed the client. Failure rarely goes viral.
Watch the formula. AI sold as sexy, the thing you cannot be seen without. Sold as faith, believe now and understand later. Sold as mystery, the secret the whisperer alone will reveal. And above all of it sit the factories, royal and almost god-like, the houses whose blessing everyone seeks.
But speed has a price and the price is noise. It is a system. The whisperers generate it, the factories amplify it, the audience consumes it, the nodes pass it on. AI does not need to persuade eight billion people. It only needs the few who persuade everyone else. Influencers, consultants, managers, teachers, journalists.
Notice the pattern. The same voices warning you the future is dystopian are often the ones selling you how to survive it. Fear in one hand, a shopping list in the other.
The whisperers are not the disease. They are the symptom. The disease is a system that extracts labour while rewarding attention and calls both progress. Noise is not a bug. It is the product.
